Queen Elizabeth II (1977-87) Updated Jan 5/02 Background The Queen Elizabeth II design, released March 1, 1977 showed a "cameo" profile of the Queen. Seven different values/designs appeared before being replaced in 1987. The 14c and 17c QE II stamps were issued in booklets of 25. The stamps in the booklets are perforated 12 x 12 1/2 compared to the 13 x 13 1/3 sheet stamps. A few of the stamps in each of these booklets are perforated all around. These are relatively scarce, particularly on the 14c value. The 32c value was issued on two different papers: Abitibi and Harrison. Click here for a discussion of identifying modern-day Canadian postage stamp paper. All sheet stamps were issued in panes of 100 and booklets in vending machine format that sold for 50c or "counter" booklets of 25.
The date shown is the date of issue of that specific variety. A "blank" means the item does not exist.
