Machin Booklet Phosphor Bars (page updated: Feb 22/04) Many Machins that come from booklets have had the phosphor bars shortened, notched, or inset so that the phosphor does not "creep" onto a neighbouring stamp. This discussion is limited to booklet stamps only. Phosphor shifts are not included.
The illustrations should be used as a guide only. The exact width, placement, or "shortness" of the tag will vary from those shown here (the offsets have been exaggerated). The "Types" are presented in the order that they appeared over the many years - the date shown represents the first time that type appeared. Each of the values that the phosphor type exists on are listed, again, in the order of their appearance.
